Am I Forgiven? (Tony Stark X Reader) (One Shot)

Tony was pouring himself a large cup of coffee as (Name) entered the kitchen. She yawned as she reached for her own coffee cup. She yawned as she poured her coffee.
“Someone seems tired,” Tony said as he leaned over to give her a good morning kiss on the temple.
“Yeah, my mom called me last night and kept me up all night because she wasn't going to be able to call me today.”
“So is that why you didn't crawl into bed until really late last night? Normally you beat me to bed.”
“Yeah. She felt bad because she wasn't going to be able to call me today.”
“Why did she feel so bad?” Tony asked.
“Why would she feel so bad about not calling you today?”
“Well today is my birthday, in case you forgot. She kinda likes to call her child(ren) on the day she gave birth to them.”
“Makes sense,” said Tony as he nervously took a drink of his coffee.
“You forgot, didn't you?” she said deadpan.
“No, in fact I have a big surprised for this evening,” he said, pretending to be extremely proud of himself.
“Oh yeah?” she asked skeptically
“Yup.”
“What is it?” she asked somewhat excitedly.
“I cannot tell you that. It is a surprise,” Tony said as he raised his eyebrows playfully.
“Well, I guess I'll go get dressed. I'm supposed to meet Natasha for breakfast,”she said as she stood up and headed to her bedroom to get dressed.
“See you later,” Tony called, and once he thought she had left, he called out to his favorite AI, “Jarvis, make reservations for (Name)'s favorite restaurant.”
“On it, sir,” Jarvis replied in his usual tone of voice.
“I heard that!” (Name) called from the hall.
“You know nothing of my surprise!” he called back to her. She chuckled as she left to get ready to go see Natasha.

(Name) had just gotten back from her breakfast with Natasha, which also turned out to be a shopping trip and lunch. She had called Tony after breakfast to let him know her plans. He had been okay with it, but (Name) was pretty sure it was because he felt guilty. She wasn't mad at him though. She forgot things often. Sometimes the day would get away from her and she would forget a doctor's appointment, and while her birthday was kinda more important, she still understood. Tony was human after all, or mostly as she liked to joke.
She entered the tower, removed her shoes, and began to look for Tony.
“Tony!” she called each time she entered a room, and once she had finally entered her own bedroom she asked Jarvis, “Jarvis, where is Tony?”
“I can't say at this moment, but Mr. Stark has left a note for you on your nightstand,” the AI informed her.
“Thanks,” she called to Jarvis as she curiously walked over to her nightstand. She picked up a note with her name scrawled across the front in black ink. She unfolded the note to find a a message from Tony.

“Dearest (Name),
Ready for that birthday surprise I promised you? If so meet me in the lobby at six thirty.
Love,
Tony
P.S. Bring shoes you can walk around in.”
(Name) checked her watch. It was five forty-five. She had forty-five minutes. She quickly went to get ready.

(Name) stepped into the lobby, in a dress she had bought that day shopping, to see Tony waiting with a bouquet of (favorite flowers). With a smile, she approached him, “So can you remember my favorite flower, but you can't remember my birthday.”
“Who said these were for you?” Tony teased.
“Fine then, I'll go,” she joked.
“In all seriousness though, I remembered your birthday, I just forgot today's date. Will you ever forgive me?”
“I don't know if I could ever forgive you. That is the unforgivable,” she joked as the exited the building and headed to a car parked in front of the building?” So what's the surprise?”
“I can't tell you that,” he replied as he politely opened the door to the car. He quickly jogged around and got in the driver's side.

A little while later, they pulled up to large carnival.
“You remembered this too?” she asked, referring to the other night when she mentioned there was a carnival that was coming to the next town over and she had been wanting to come to.
“Of course,” he said, smiling.
“Thank you,” she said, as she leaned towards him, meeting her lips with his. He greeted her lips with the perfect amount of tenderness. A minute later, they broke apart.
“You're welcome, now what do you say we go and ride some rides?”

As they were leaving the carnival, (Name) rested her head heavily on Tony's shoulder.
“I love you, Tony,” she said as she turned to look at him.
“I love you too, (Nickname),” he said as they walked off to the car.

“So does this mean I'm forgiven forgetting your birthday?”
“I'll have to think about it.”
